Press Release: Contiki Vacations Launches New 2011 Australia & New Zealand Brochure

Contiki Celebrates by Offering Travelers Big Savings and a New Trip

ANAHEIM, Calif., August 2, 2010 Contiki Vacations, the leader in fun travel packages for 18-35 year olds, is pleased to announce the launch of the 2011–2012 Australia and New Zealand brochure.

The brochure is available in print and online at, and presents more than 20 options to go “down under” with Contiki. Featured trips include the bestselling Australia package Beaches & Reefs, which celebrates Australia’s east coast with 18 days on some of the best beaches in the world, and New Zealand’s Grand Explorer, which covers both islands for the ultimate Kiwi experience.

Australia trips offer Contiki passengers the option to party in Sydney, snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, four-wheel drive through ancient sandbars and rainforests, cuddle koalas and sip champagne at sunset in Uluru. Contiki travelers can also pump up the adrenaline in New Zealand with opportunities to bungee jump, skydive, blackwater raft in glowworm caves, swim with dolphins and sandboard.

New to the 2011 brochure is Contiki’s four day Melbourne Explorer package. Known as Australia’s “cultural capital,” Melbourne is a major gateway city with awesome nightlife, cool galleries, tasty food, great wine and beautiful beaches. The Melbourne Explorer works well as an add-on to any of Contiki’s Australian itineraries.

To celebrate the launch of the new brochure, Contiki is offering $150 off land-tours 11 days or longer plus $150 off airfare. The promotion begins on August 3, and is available until August 16, 2010. “We’re excited to provide these promotions to our clients,” said Michelle Murray, director of marketing and key accounts at Contiki Vacations. “With our specials and the low airfare rates that are available right now, it’s a perfect time to head down under.” For more details on the Australia & New Zealand deal and other promotions, visit

Contiki Marketing Gets Their Asses Kicked

In a good way. Michelle, Caroline, and Andrea from the Contiki marketing team joined the ROXY Athletix College Tour at UCLA on Wednesday, 10/21. We checked out the scene and Roxy gear, did a yoga and cross-training class, and felt seriously sore afterwards. Thanks to the Roxy team – you ladies rocked our world and we had a blast!

Check out the Roxy Athletix site for more info on their new products, the workouts that almost made us pass out, and the college tour – plus enter to win a Contiki for 2 to Australia with VAustralia!

Contiki joins Chapman University on Race Day

We made an appearance over the weekend at the Toyota of Orange Chapman University 5K race and were able to show our support for the 2K race attendees and participants. We encountered several past passengers (even a client from 20 years ago!) and were able to introduce ourselves to many new faces. We passed out Contiki water bottles and key chains to the weary runners and checked out the other sponsors that included Minute Rice and Yoga Works (can you say health conscious??). All in all, it was a good morning despite the 6am start time but, like they say, the early bird catches the worm. Too bad worms are gross.
