In celebration of our upcoming Earth Month initiatives, Contiki created a once-in-a-lifetime experience by customizing an 11-day Galapagos and Ecuador trip (departing this weekend!) with documentary filmmaker and environmentalist, Céline Cousteau, the grand-daughter of legendary oceanographer Jacques Cousteau. She continues his legacy with her commitment to protect marine ecosystems and diverse cultures.
In celebration of Earth Month and this special itinerary with Celine, Contiki is making a donation to Shark Savers’ SharksCount Program to help the organization introduce their “citizen science for sharks” program in the Galapagos. Sharks Count is a program that provides recreational divers with the simple and fun tools to collect valuable shark sighting data all over the globe. Over time, these sightings will provide marine biologists with essential information about shark population trends with the potential of improving protections for sharks. Samantha Whitcraft, the program’s director, will meet with Contiki travelers to give a presentation about the program and the importance of the initiative.
Contiki has also launched new dates & rates for our Latin America tours. Check it out!
