By Contikivacations | February 19, 2013
Today is National Chocolate Mint Day in the U.S., and so the US office is enjoying some Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies! This is a special treat that anyone visiting the U.S. should definitely check out (only for a limited time!)
When we talk about travel expanding your horizons, you're not just learning about different cultures, you're bound to run into some amazing goodies sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. These delectable desserts are a far cry from the fascinating eats around the world. Here are a handful (and you shouldn't eat more than a handful!) of delectable delights that you surely don't want to miss!
Macarons
Laduree in France claims to be the home of the macaron, a delicious and fluffy treat. Not to be confused with the macaroon (a coconut pastry), the macaron is a meringue-based confection commonly filled with a ganache or buttercream.
Sacher Torte
No visit to Vienna is complete without tasting the delectable Sacher Torte at the Hotel Sacher. This famous Austrian chocolate cake even features the word "Sacher" stamped on top in chocolate - that's how you know it's legit!

Poffertjes
Resembling a mini pancake, the Dutch dessert Poffertjes is dusted with a light coating of powdered sugar and can be served with ice cream. That's a double dose of sweet for your sugar cravings!

Trdelnik
FAWN gurus Rachel Talbott and Theodore Leaf went to Prague and tried these delicious sugary donuts known as trdelnik. Watch their video to see the sights of Dresden, their arrival in Prague, and a shot of these delicious donuts being cooked right on the spot!
