Contiki Attends 3rd Annual TravCorp Grand Canyon Restoration Project!
By Contikivacations | June 1, 2012
For the 3rd consecutive year, Contiki staffers joined a group of The Travel Corporation employees at the Grand Canyon Restoration Project. The TreadRight Foundation partnered with Tourism Cares, a non-profit organization founded by the tourism industry to preserve many of the world's natural sites for future generations of travelers.
As part of the project, 19 TravCorp employees (including 5 Contiki staff!) traveled to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to remove invasive plants and replant native species at the Mather Point Visitor Center. Guided by the National Parks Services knowledgeable crew, The TravCorp staff spent an entire day planting over 200 different plants and beautifying the visitor center.
Before leaving Arizona, the TravCorp staff also got a chance to take a jeep ride through the red rock country of Sedona - an optional excursion provided to Contiki passengers on The Wild Western tour. Check out the photos!
