We are all aware of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Japan on March 11, 2011, resulting in a devastating tsunami that battered the coastline. The situation remains dire, and the people of Japan are still recovering in the aftermath of this natural disaster.
Today, our office hosted a company-wide bake sale to contribute to the Japan relief effort. Titled “Goodies for Good,” the event encouraged all employees from the Travel Corporation (our parent company), including our Contiki team, to bake, donate, and bring increased awareness to the crisis. All proceeds will be donated directly to the American Red Cross for Japan earthquake relief.
You may not be able to hop on a plane and help with the relief efforts firsthand, but there are plenty of ways to help – right from your computer. Mashable offered up a great article titled, “Japan Earthquake & Tsunami: 7 Simple Ways to Help,” which offers some tech-friendly ways you can contribute. Every little bit helps, so support the relief efforts in any way you can.
